PUB GRUB - THE SHIP - 2021
The first of the Province's fundraisers for our MBF Festival in 2030 took place on Saturday 21 August at The Ship Public House, Kirby and was hosted by Naze Tower Lodge No.1380.
There were 70 in attendance for this event and including several Brethren from "The South" who made the journey to "The North" of Essex along with their partners, and were made most welcome. We were very fortunate to have W.Bro. John Finlay Deputy Provincial Grand Master along with Mark Reeve Assistant Provincial Grand Master attend.
It was a very enjoyable evening, with many Brethren enjoying the first social gathering in over 18 months, and many friendships were renewed, making it nice to see people face to face instead of on a Zoom meeting. The pub layout made for a very pleasant evening with first class service from all the staff, and the quality of the food that was served was first class and highly enjoyed by all present. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff.
There was a raffle, with the tickets being drawn by the D.P.G.M., with most tables winning, with the exception of the Aurelius Lodge table.
A special thanks must go to W.Bro. Andy Sylvester and his wife Bernie for the first class way in which the evening was organised, also to Bro. John Adams whose commitment and dedication to making the evening a success was greatly appreciated by all present.
All those present are looking forward to the next event in " The North"
Also thanks to Tony and Angela Benstead for allowing us to take over their pub on a Saturday Night.
The total of the money raised will be announced at The Northern Cluster Meeting on Wednesday 15 September which will be hosted by Naze Tower Lodge
Thanks to Les Morgan for being duty photographer.
