PUB GRUB - THE SHIP - 2022
Saturday 13th of August saw the return of Naze Tower’s highly successful meal at The Ship Pub in Kirby Cross.
Due to the fantastic weather, we have been having, the dress code was relaxed to allow shorts to be worn, and saw our Media Manager wear a shir tthat Len Abraham’s would be proud of.
The pub saw 65 Mark Men accompanied by their partners arrived for this prestigious event for the second year, and they were not to be disappointed by the food and service offered by the Tony and Angela Banstead and the staff at the pub. They were joined by Geoff Newman and Peter Steele from ”The South”.
The pub layout made for a very pleasant evening with first class service from all the staff, and the quality of the food that was served was first class and highly enjoyed by all present. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff.
There was a superb raffle run by Andy Sylvester, ably assisted by John Adams and Bev Todd, who was likened to a Sgt.Major with her booming voice, and Bill Dyer wished his had ear defenders.
Rory the Lion, showed his support for the event at the raffle.
After the raffle, Andy thanked everyone for attending and hoped they enjoyed themselves and looked forward to seeing them again next year.
A special thanks must go to W.Bro. Andy Sylvester and his wife Bernie for the first-class way in which the evening was organised, also to Bro. John Adams whose commitment and dedication to making the evening a success was greatly appreciated by all present.
The evening raised £750 for the 2030 Festival.
