PUB GRUB - THE CRICKETERS - 2023
On a wet Saturday 21st October evening, Centurion Lodge No.1804 held its first social event since its re-birth, at the Cricketer's Pub, Eight Ash Green, Colchester.
There were 71 Mark Men, and their families present from all corners of the province, with several members travelling up from South Essex to enjoy the hospitality.
The food was first class, and it was even rumoured that Pete Maloney was happy with the meal and couldn't find anything to complain about.......!!!!
Following the meal, the fund-raising part of the evening commenced with the host of the evening W.Bro. Andy Sylvester auctioning a bottle of Gold Bullion Rum, donated by W.Bro. Brian Todd. The bottle was auctioned off for the tidy sum of £85, with the proceeds going to the Blossom Suite at Colchester Hospital.
Andy not being finished there, auctioned off a set of hand crafted "Snow Masons”, which had been made and donated by W.Bro. Phil Richardson. These raised a total of £75.00. Phil also donated a series of hand-crafted pens in aid of the festival, and these were sold accordingly.
The raffle organised by Dave and Bev Todd was then drawn, with a special thanks going to all those who had donated raffle prizes.
In total the evening raised over £800 for the MBF 2030 Festival.
Centurion Lodge have several other fundraising events in the pipeline, so do keep an eye on social media for details.
A special thank you must go to the Management and staff at the Cricketer's for the superb food and first-class service provided.
We will be back...
