Wednesday 8 February saw Mauly continue his journey, this time from Dunmow to Grays Thurrock No.570. The Travelling Maul was presented by Dave Thomas WM of Dunmow No.527 to John Flack the reigning Master of Grays Thurrock (pictured). Next on Mauly's journey will be Aurelius No.814 at Clacton on Friday 14 April,but not before Grays Thurrock are able to use it again at their next meeting on 12 April.

The Travelling Maul made its way to the seaside town of Clacton-on-Sea escorted by Bob Neal and Glen Remblance.
The Maul was presented to W.Bro. Ivan Bruce who, inturn, presented it to Walter Pasiful as he was Installed as Master.
Mauly enjoyed his trip to the seaside so much that he will be making a short trip down the coast to Brightlingsea for the Northern Cluster Meeting.
Mauly's collection raised £59.05

Beriffe No.825

Tuesday 9 May saw the Travelling Maul take a short journey from Clacton-on-Sea to Brightlingsea for the Northern Cluster meeting, hosted this year by Beriffe Lodge.
The maul was presented by W.Bro. Ken Headworth, who stood in for Aurelius Lodge's Master.
Ken is seen presenting the Maul to Beriffe's Master W.Bro. Bob Crowe, who then proceeded to use it accordingly for the rest of the meeting.
The collection at the Festive Board raised the fantastic sum of £49.00

The White Stone No.864

Having spent the summer on the sunny north coast of Essex, it was time for the Travelling Maul (Mauly) to re-start his travels into the heart of the county.
On Monday 16th of October, Assistant Provincial Grand Master W.Bro. John Stannard travelled to Chelmsford to The White Stone Lodge No.864 to present the Travelling Maul to their Worshipful Master, W.Bro. Jason Rees on behalf of Beriffe Lodge No.825. W.Bro. John Stannard is also a member of The White Stone Lodge No.825 and having presented the Travelling Maul to Jason Rees found himself using it for the meeting as he was installed as WM in a superb ceremony.
After the meeting at the Festive Board the ‘loose change’ pot which accompanies the Travelling Maul was passed round and the brethren raised £40 for the Festival 2030. Mauly will now be travelling to Ambresbury Lodge No.834 on Friday October 27th thus continuing his long journey around the Province and visiting all the Mark Lodges in turn.

The Travelling Maul enjoyed its short stay with The White Stone Lodge and made its way to Ambresbury Lodge, in the safe company of W.Bro. Richard Goodwin, Assistant Provincial Grand Master.
The Maul was presented by Richard to their Worshipful Master, Tony White, and was used for the remainder of the meeting.
The loose change a the Festive Board raised £34.00. The Maul's next visit will be to Rainham Lodge in December.

On Saturday 16th December 2023, Mauly (The Travelling Maul) went to Orsett Masonic Hall to visit Rainham Lodge of MMMs No. 859, where W.Bro Lestor Haslam the Worshipful Master of Ambresbury Lodge No. 834 ably presented Mauly to the W.M W.Bro Richard Fox, where he used Mauly for the remainder of the meeting. There was a small contingent from Ambresbury Lodge in Support for W.Bro Lestor on his presentation namly W.Bro Tony White and Bro Richard Glover, which added greatly to the occasion. Rainham Lodge will make a donation in support of the Essex Mark festival 2030.
The Brethren then retired to the now quite famous Rainham Lodges Christmas white table festive board where carols were sung, for what seemed like the whole evening long a very enjoyable experience was had by all.
Mauly’s next round will be to Isthmian Lodge of MMMs No. 891 at Chingford Masonic centre on Wednesday 14th February 2024.
